A MORE COMPETITIVE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY RAILWAY
CEEK is a joint initiative of the railway industry to save energy. Together, we develop and implement energy-efficient and, at the same time, environmentally friendly solutions that serve all participants of the railway market. We create a platform for dialogue between representatives of carriers, infrastructure managers and operators, research institutions and industry organisations. Our mission is to continuously optimise energy consumption of the Polish railways.
The initiative was established in March 2019. We work together as part of a group of almost 70 entities with the active participation of domestic carriers, PKP PLK, PKP S.A. and PKP Energetyka, as well as experts from, among others, the National Energy Conservation Agency (KAPE), the Railway Institute, Warsaw University of Technology, the Jagiellonian Institute and the Jagiellonian Club.
We work on how to transport passengers and goods more economically, efficiently, cost-efficiently and more ecologically. We support the exchange of good practices between companies and foster discussion on the best legislative solutions in the field of energy efficiency. We are the specialist common voice of the railway industry, and our demands are in line with the assumptions of the Polish Energy Policy until 2040.
We work together to increase the competitiveness of the Polish railway!
- Organisation of thematic workshops for members of the initiative in the field of recuperation, eco-driving, financing of efficiency-enhancing investments.
- Suggesting legislative solutions based on standards, solutions and methods of implementation developed during workshops.
- Developing and publishing reports on the state of energy efficiency of the railway industry.
- Environmental and industry education.
CEEK’s work is managed by the Program Council. It is composed of entities that are responsible for 95% of energy consumption in the sector.
